We know how important it is to  provide quality accommodation for your key leaders or volunteer staff.  A core part of our mission is to provide a place for quiet reflection, meaningful conversation, creative inspiration and strategic planning for churches, schools and not-for-profit groups at an affordable price.  The Arjay Trust subsidises the costs of accommodation for charities and churches at the Whakatā Country Retreat. 

Corporate Groups

Whakatā Country Retreat is well equipped as a location for corporate offsites, board meetings, leadership team meetings, and strategy sessions. Our corporate guest tell us that Whakatā Country Retreat is a welcome change from 'yet another conference room'.  It provides an opportunity to take staff into a more relaxed and creative environment.  You'll be pleased at the difference in planning and strategic conversations that occur in this beautiful setting. The house is self catering and you are welcome to use the gourmet kitchen or onsite catering can be arranged with local cafes.

Holiday Rentals

Whakatā Country Retreat is very busy throughout the year, however the house is available for hire in December and January and official school holiday breaks. It is ideal for large or extended families, groups of friends or overseas visitors who would appreciate the opportunity for some serious rest and recreation in a luxurious country environment. Unfortunately the house is not available for weddings due to our resource consents.  

Personal Retreats

At times we are able to offer a room at Whakatā for a mid-week personal retreat.  If you are in need in of some time for quiet refreshment, make an enquiry and  we will see if we can fit you in.
